The Riyadh Dry Port Ecosystem, managed by Saudi Global Ports (SGP), is a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia's logistics infrastructure, playing a crucial role in facilitating the movement of goods across the country. This ecosystem encompasses three key facilities: the Riyadh Dry Port, Riyadh Empty Yard, and the Dammam Empty Container Yard. These interconnected facilities (by rail) ensure the smooth and efficient transfer of cargo between the capital and major seaports.
As the primary hub for imports arriving via Dammam Seaport and destined for the Central and Western regions, Riyadh Dry Port stands as the only dry port in Riyadh. With a capacity of 950,000 TEUs and plans for a bonded warehouse, it is strategically linked by rail to both Dammam Seaport and the Riyadh Empty Container Yard. Riyadh Dry Port receives 50% of Riyadh’s import via the Dammam-Riyadh rail link.
The equipment at the Dry Port includes 10 straddle carriers, 13 reach stackers and 6 empty container handlers. There is a chill transfer area and a bonded and DG warehouse.
